Tommy James Kids Book Review

*I received a reader’s copy of this book in exchange for my honest review on the blog!*

We have had a lot going on the past few weeks and with being in the middle of a move all of my son’s books are packed in storage. To many people, this may seem like nothing but my son loves to look at books and have them read to him. We recently had the chance to read Maria Ashworth’s new book Tommy James: The Littlest Cowboy in Reckon. This is the first book in the Tommy James series and so far we can not wait for the rest to come.

Tommy James may seem like the littlest cowboy in his town, but he has determination bigger than many. He gets bullied by Bo Jones but soon finds out how to get through the bullying.

My son is finishing up Pre-K this month and has had a taste of how children can be. As an only child, he did not have to worry about others picking on him too much and having his space.

This book had some great lessons that he could relate to. One being that even if someone is bullying you, don’t let them get the best of you, just keep being you. Do not change for anyone just be yourself, everyone is different and have their own ways of getting through tough situations.

Maria Ashworth books are awesome children’s books, there is a lesson for every child in every book. My son fell in love quickly with her Iggy Loo book back around the holidays and this Tommy James book is now one of his favorites now. I love being able to have it in our Kindle Library and he can pull it up anytime anywhere.  The illustrations are adorable and totally kid approved.

If your little one loves the outdoors, farm life, or cowboys this is a great book for them. If this doesn’t seem like the perfect fit, she has some other children’s books that you can check out too!
