How To Ensure The Kids Get Plenty Of Fresh Air In The Summer Holidays

School is almost out for summer, and you can almost hear the frantic parents all over the world wondering what they are going to do to keep their children entertained for six long weeks. While letting them watch TV or playing with their toys in their bedroom is just fine, you should be making the most of the wonderful weather that we have been blessed with! Plus, children can quickly become bored (as you already know), and the great outdoors is the perfect place to keep them entertained and wear them out. For example, why not take the kids to sport clubs, where they can undertake a variety of activities from tennis lessons to basketball.

Give them a camera each

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to see the world through your child’s eyes? It’s likely that since they were born, every photo that’s related to them in any way has been taken by you or another adult. Why not give them a disposable camera each and encourage them to take photos of their favorite moments throughout their summer holidays? Towards the end, you could all make a scrapbook of your favorite moments together. You’ll be surprised at some of the weird and wonderful photos that your child will take.

Take them on bike rides

If there’s one thing that all parents can agree on, it’s that they want to find an activity that will wear off their child’s energy enough to have a decent night of sleep. Bike rides are the perfect example of such an activity and you can buy roof racks for your car online from 4WD Supacentre. So why not pack yourselves a picnic, load the bikes into the car, and head to a nice spot where the kids can ride around and you can enjoy the summer heat? Have them challenge each other to see how fast they can go and create some games to keep the fun flowing!

Buy a cheap paddling pool

Speaking of the summer heat, it’s likely that your children will want to cool down every once in a while. You don’t have to rely on air conditioning or until the sun sets for this to happen thanks to cheap and easy to assemble paddling pools for children. Pop one up in the garden and make some homemade ice lollies for a super cool, super fun, and super soaked day of fun in the sun! Don’t forget to get your camera out to capture some wonderful moments of your children having fun splashing in the sun!

Give them garden projects

Finally, it’s no secret that children love being outdoors. There’s always something new and interesting to discover, so why not take advantage of that and give them a garden project each to concentrate on over the summer holidays? This could be a plant to grow, or even their very own vegetable to look after and enjoy eating once it’s ripe!
